C-Series: Changing the Username

Issue

• You need to change the login credentials for your Oncam camera.
• There is no direct “edit” option for an existing username.

Cause

Oncam cameras do not allow editing an existing username. Instead, you must create a new user with the desired username and then remove the old user.
 

Resolution

1. In the Oncam Camera Configuration Tool or Camera UI, from the left-hand menu click on Users.
2. At the top-right corner, select + Create New User.
3. Enter the new username and password, confirm password.
4. Under Access Level, select Administrator (required if you plan to delete the existing admin account).
5. Click Create New User.
6. Locate the old user in the list.
7. Select Delete under the Actions column to remove the old account.
